GQ Presents: Just The Two Of Us (And Ken Jeong)

GQ presents a funny new editorial in their August 2011 issue. Shot by Peggy Sirota and starring Kate Upton, comedian Ken Jeong, best known for his roles in the two Hang Over movies, crashes each one of the shots. Otherwise, you also get to see the latest Fall 2011 gear in the shoot.

Converse First String Straight Shooter

Converse continues its experimentation with lightweight silhouettes as it welcomes the Straight Shooter for Summer 2011. Much like the previously shown model , this new silhouette features a Lunarlon foam drop-in, which is wrapped in a rubber midsole maintaining Converse’s telltale vulcanized look while still featuring new technology engineered for increased comfort and support. In what marks Eric Koston’s first signature shoe model for Nike SB, this SB Koston One style has just been unveiled in a cool, stylish blue on blue colorway. With a skateboard-specific tread to enhance grip when riding and neoprene collar for improved comfort around the ankle, the sneaker also features a suede upper with seamless lining. While Team Nike is stunting on opponents this summer at Dyckman Park, you can do the same on the sideline with the exclusive Team Nike Air Force 1. These crispy white-on-white Uptowns are equipped with special Team Nike Starks laces and proclaim hometown pride with “WE ARE NY” lasered on the heel cup. But they won’t be easy to get: there are only 72 pairs in existence. Twenty-four will be available at the Nike Sportswear Ice Cream Truck and the remaining 48 will be at Nike Basketball’s BLVD ICE in Harlem, for those interested.

Mercedes Benz 2012 C63 AMG Black Series Coupe

As part of its special edition Black Series range, Mercedes-Benz has upgraded the C63 AMG coupe with a brand new model. Weighing nearly 44 pounds less than its original counterpart, the C63 AMG Coupe Black Series features a M156 6.2-liter V8 engine that boasts 510 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. Sitting much lower than the standard C63 AMG with widened tracks and forged wheels, the model also features modified shift mapping with the AMG Speedshift MCT meaning gear changes in Sport + and Manual modes takes just one tenth of a second. With an estimated market price hovering somewhere around $90,000 USD, the vehicle is expected to ship to Europe in January 2012 while China and the U.S. will get deliveries in March 2012.

 

 

Jay Z And Kanye West Announce “The Throne” Tour Dates

More news and confirmation surrounding Kanye West and Jay-Z’s highly anticipated collaborative project emerges. According to an official press release, the release date for the album has changed. Now, the LP will arrive on iTunes August 8 and will hit stores August 8th/12th. In order to grace this release properly, the duo – now known as The Throne – have announced tour dates for this fall. Tickets go on sale August 8, the same day the album is released exclusively on iTunes, whereas pre-sale will be available on Thursday here. In addition, Live Nation has an additional incentive for the live show: those who purchase tickets will also get a digital copy of the album, which retails for $11.99. See the dates below:
